The Setouchi International Art Festival is a celebration of modern art staged once every three years on the quiet islands of Setouchi.
About 210 artists from 24 regions and countries participate. This year, for the second time, the festival will be held over 108 days, allowing visitors to take a tour of the islands while enjoying the changing seasons, from spring into summer and then into fall.
This program will introduce both the beauty of the sea around Setouchi as well as the many unique art works and specialty products characteristic to each island. We will also look at the cultural exchange between local islanders and visiting artists from Singapore. We approach the charming islands of Setouchi through art, nature, and food.
